Lubbock Chapter #248 conferred a Mark Master degree on five candidates this morning.

The day started early with coffee and homemade cinnamon rolls and sticky buns that were baked that morning by Companion Clark’s wife. Companion Hogan made sure a card of appreciation was signed by several members for her efforts. They were delicious, as always.

This was the first degree ever in full costume dress, the first where books were used less than 10% in the entire degree in 40 years, and the first non-festival degree in approximately 8 years. The degree team consisted of:

  • RWM – Jeremy Hogan
  • WSW – Johnny Davis
  • WJW – James Clark
  • SD – Chris Bates
  • M Overseer – Dustin Delano
  • S Overseer – Zack Wyatt
  • J Overseer – Justin Glosson
  • Sec – JW Jolly
  • MoC – Allen Dorsett
  • Mar – Bob Chesser

Hogan also gave the lecture from memory and Clark gave the reprimand and working tools. The degree was given with passion and importance with the candidates in mind. All felt a sense of accomplishment after all the hard work.

The candidates were appreciative of the efforts of the degree team and expressed their gratitude. All were encouraged to attend the upcoming festival in Floydada in March. This degree will also be featured in the Grand Chapter Magazine.
